A chill flashed in Vera Xavier’s eyes. Knowing Skylar Crowe, she was certain Skylar was running off to get reinforcents. And nine tis out of ten, those "reinforcents" would be Susan Caldwell.
For so reason, Vera found herself actually looking forward to eting Susan Caldwell in this life.
In her previous life, she had been in her late twenties when she first t Susan Caldwell. She had never seen the eighteen-year-old version of her.
The corners of her lips curved up slightly, a sweet smile gracing her face as she looked at Skylar Crowe and said, "Alright. I’ll be waiting."
Skylar Crowe looked at Vera’s beautiful, bright smile and her calm, composed deanor. The contrast made her feel all the more pathetic and disheveled, and she began to tremble with rage. If she weren’t completely outmatched by Vera at that mont, she would have charged forward to fight her to the death!
She left in a wretched state. The hotel owner was dumbfounded. The delicate-looking young woman before him was actually a tough custor.
The hotel owner had seen everything that just happened. To be frank, Vera had only been defending herself, but in doing so, she had made an enemy of the other young woman.
The hotel owner kindly warned Vera, "Young lady, that girl you just fought is trouble. They’ve been here for a few days. Just the other day, I saw them flip over a scarf vendor’s stall and beat up the owner, all because they couldn’t agree on a price. Those girls seem to co from a powerful background."
Normally, tourists wouldn’t dare to bully the locals, afraid of causing unnecessary trouble so far from ho.
"Damn!" Jack Judd chid in from the side. "So she’s a little delinquent!"
The owner shook his head. "Based on their clothes, they don’t look like your average delinquents. They have a tall man with them, and he’s sothing else. I saw him send the scarf vendor flying with a single kick. Looked like he broke two of the guy’s ribs. They just tossed down a hundred bucks and left. In all my years of doing business, I’ve never seen people so unreasonable."
’Vera wasn’t surprised to hear this. Mr. Caldwell was afraid his daughter might get taken advantage of when she was away from ho, so he always made Susan take one of the family bodyguards with her whenever she traveled.
’But that bodyguard had long been bought off by Susan. He never told Mr. Caldwell about her bullying, and when he had nothing better to do, he’d even beat up so ek, working-class people, counting on them being too timid to fight back.
’In Veridia, Susan Caldwell was praised by all as a gentle, kind, poised, and elegant darling of high society. In reality, she was violent to the core. Whenever she was "bullied" on the road, she had her bodyguard "solve" the problem. If things escalated and soone ca looking for her afterward, she would push all the bla onto Skylar Crowe.’
Jack Judd said dismissively, "What’s there to be afraid of..."
Vera’s gaze swept over to him, and he quickly swallowed his words, standing off to the side sullenly.
Vera smiled at the owner. "Thank you for the warning. We’ll be careful."
She asked the owner, "Do you have a needle and thread? My clothes are torn, and I’d like to nd them."
The owner quickly nodded and gave her a sewing kit.
They were still talking when Skylar Crowe returned with a few people in tow. She pointed a finger at Vera and shouted, "That’s her! She’s the one who hit ! Susan, you have to teach her a lesson for !"
