"What are you here for, hubby? Don’t tell you are here to apologize to her because of what I told you," Beatrice said, her words hissing in Elara’s ears, and Elara looked at Andrew, finally realizing the truth.

It turned out Beatrice had known about her pregnancy, and she deliberately sent those photos to her to provoke her; the reason she had a miscarriage.

Then again, if Andrew hadn’t allowed her to be so close, she would’ve never gotten that kind of chance.

"What are you doing here?" Andrew asked.

Beatrice clicked her tongue before smiling.

"What do you think? I ca here to see how Elara is celebrating, thinking she has won because my husband betrayed and sent to jail," Beatrice said, her fingers tightening around Elara’s hands.

"You really think you won because Andrew turned against too, no?" Beatrice asked.

Elara narrowed her eyes. She didn’t speak. Didn’t want to. After dealing with Ashton, she wasn’t sure what kind of intentions Beatrice held. Moreover, the girl was even holding a gun.

What if she fires the bullet?

"Elara," Daniel whispered, his gaze flickering between the tip of the gun that was on his girlfriend’s head and Elara’s eyes that were strangely calm as she looked at him.

"Don’t be scared," Elara mouthed to him, and the man squared his jaws.

She didn’t want him to be scared? How could he not when his girlfriend was being held by a maniac who was probably here to hurt her only?

"Beatrice, let her go. We can talk from so distance too," Andrew itched closer to her.

Beatrice chuckled darkly.

"Oh no, Andrew. You don’t get to do it. You hate . There’s no talking left. You made it crystal clear when you called the cops on . The only reason you are offering ’talk’ is because you want Elara to be safe. I am not dumb enough not to understand it," Beatrice said.

Andrew pursed his lips into a thin line, unsure what to do, what to say to get Beatrice to believe him.

He hated her. There was no doubt about it. After everything she did, every betrayal of the emotions he held for her, he had nothing but hatred in his heart for her.

Even standing in the sa room as her felt disgusting, but it was about Elara’s life now.

She already suffered so much because of him. There was no way he would let her get hurt by Beatrice because of him again.

Andrew shook his head at himself, thinking about what he could and should do.

"What do you want, Beatrice?" Elara asked after a while, hoping to keep her occupied in small talk, since the officer had already said they had dispatched a team to catch her.

Beatrice paused. She thought about what Elara asked for for a few seconds before she smirked.

"Mm, let think. How about your death?" She asked before laughing loudly.

"Beatrice!" Gabriella shouted from near the stage, her outburst making Beatrice laugh even louder.

"Calm down, Mama Bear. I am not doing it just yet. It would be slow and painful," Beatrice said.

With so many trained and ard n present in the halls, it wouldn’t be hard to tackle Beatrice in a single go, but what they were afraid of was Elara, who was in her arms. They didn’t want her to get hurt in the process.

And with how unhinged Beatrice was, she wouldn’t think twice before pulling the trigger if she felt even a little foul play.

"Now that’s a lie we all know about," Elara said.

"Hmm? What did you say? Lie? Have you forgotten you are in my hands, at my rcy?" Beatrice asked.

Elara shrugged nonchalantly as if her threat didn’t scare her at all.

"Well, isn’t that the truth? If you wanted to kill , you would’ve pulled that trigger already," Elara said.

"And you think I wouldn’t do that now?" Beatrice asked.

"Elara, what are you doing? Shut up. Don’t speak to her!" George shouted. Logan and Gabriella nodded in agreent, but Elara didn’t stop.

She knew it was risky. But it was the only way to keep her engaged. Provoking her would distract her from her surroundings, allowing them to do their work efficiently.

Daniel understood what Elara was trying to do imdiately and looked at the first floor subtly, blinking his eyes thrice to signal his n.

"Tell , Elara. Do you think I wouldn’t pull the trigger? Two murders are already painted on ; will it make any difference if I kill one more? Not to , for sure. But what about you and your family?" Beatrice asked as she wrapped the chain of her cufflinks around Elara’s throat and pulled it backwards.

Gabriella gasped in shock and fear.

"No!" she shouted, and Beatrice smirked.

"See. Look at the fear in your mother’s eyes. Will she be able to hear the sight of her own daughter’s head being blown off? Your cunning brain that works so well will burst and be splattered on this ground, no?" Beatrice whispered, her words like a snake’s venomous hiss, and Elara swallowed hard.

She took a deep breath, or tried to breathe as hard as she could with the chains pressing on her windpipe.

"And? Of course, she would fear for . I have a sane mother. What about you?" Elara gritted out.

Beatrice froze in her place.

This girl just did not go there. Beatrice’s eyes turned dark.

"How dare you? How dare you bring her into this?!" Beatrice roared before she hit Elara’s forehead with the back of her gun.

It hurt. Elara would be lying if she said it didn’t. She could feel a thick liquid rolling down the side of her temples and knew it was none other than her own blood.

But this just proved her theory even more.

Beatrice didn’t want to kill her imdiately. She wanted to torture her, feel the pain, fear her, and admit that she lost. And that was sothing that was going to give her enough leverage to keep going and provide Daniel’s n with enough ti to tackle her.

"Elara, what the fuck are you doing? Just shut up! Do you not care about your life? Why are you provoking her?" Gabriella couldn’t take it anymore and shouted.

She stepped forward to walk to where they were standing when Beatrice clicked her tongue and pressed the tip of the gun on Elara’s head harder.

"Now that’s a mistake I wouldn’t make, Mrs. Frost. Your precious daughter stayed dead in everyone’s eyes for four years. You wouldn’t want her to die imdiately and turn her celebration party into her funeral, right?" Beatrice asked.
