"I want it within two days." I ordered making Kyrell nod.

"All right, I’ll get it done."

"How’s the rest of the work going? Are there any troubles from the nobles’ side?" I asked and Kyrell shook his head.

"No, after your warning nobody dared to co around here with the request of Archduke’s assassination. But, there’s one thing,"

"Hm?"

"A servant of a noble family was seen lurking down here a few days ago, he was looking for the information on Archduke’s close aides."

I cocked my brow as he told that, these nobles sure had a way to ss with the hornet’s nest.

"I had him killed and delivered to his Master with a warning."

"Good."

"Is there anything else to report?"

"None."

"Then, I’ll leave." I announced and placed down a large pouch filled with gold coins on the table.

"Ma-Master-"

"Use it well,"

I didn’t stay for long and made my way out of the Raven Heart guild’s base.

The black market was just as usual, filled with filth.

"Do you want to give them an extra warning?" Lyall asked denoting the noble who was trying to look for .

"Nope, Kyrell’s warning is enough. If he still tries anything else then, we’ll just see his end."

Lyall nodded and we continued on till I stared hearing the sounds of shouting.

"What’s wrong?"

"Just the usual sale."

I heard the ones around speaking and decided to ignore it. We had to cross over from the side so, I gestured Lyall to keep close.

"You little runt!"

"Whoa, catch it!"

"It’s running away!"

"Hurry and catch it!"

The crowd started going frantic and before I knew it sothing that shot out from the crowd had latched itself onto my legs.

"Whoa, what-"

Lyall was ready with his knives to slice up the thing but I raised my hand stopping him and the crowd faced .

"The-There it is!"

"That young man caught it!"

I looked down at the entity clutching onto and instantly frowned as I noticed the long pointy ears over the small head. It was an elf.

"An elf." I gasped and it looked up at .

My eyebrows furrowed even deeper when I noticed the familiar small face looking at with the bruises and cuts scattered over her face, neck and arms. She was still dressed in the dirty burlap bag which I had seen the other day.

Her large doe-like erald eyes peered into mine pleading desperately, her chapped and colourless lips quivered and her bony fingers clutched onto my trousers.

"Shall I get it off, Master?" Lyall asked.

"It’s fine." I said and placed my hand over her light green hair that were cropped short.

"Get off , child." I said and she shook her head pressing her face into my coat.

"Ah, it won’t get off that easily, My Lord. Let rid you of it." A large man dressed in a black suit and a golden mask approached and took the child’s bony arm.

"Co here!" He commanded and the child still kept clinging onto .

"Why this little brat!" He gritted his teeth and raised his black whip.

Lyall was at once in front of in a protective manner making the man stop.

"That child is sticking to my Master. If you are trying to hit her you will hurt him as well."

The man flinched and brought his hands up.

"I-I am only trying to use the form that these wretched slaves understand the best."

"It’s fine. Step aside." Lyall obeyed my word and I faced the man who smiled.

"Thank you, My Lord."

"Don’t hit her," I said and the man tilted his head slightly.

"Then, how are you going to get her off?"

I looked down at the kid and patted her head twice.

"Just because I saved you once and gave you food doesn’t an I will keep helping you. Get off ."

It was brutal of to say that to the child who might be seeing as her saviour but if I rescued her then I would have to take along the other slaves as well and that would be an unnecessary act. I didn’t want any diversions from my plan of secrecy any more than what I was already doing.

I didn’t want to be terd as a "benevolent fool" who rescued the slaves from the black market.

"Y-You are the... the... Lord... who-who protects us..." She spoke in a trembling and cracking voice.

"M-My Gr-Grandma said yo-you will sa-save us all... P-Please help ... Dragon Lord!"

My eyes widened as I heard her last words and I clenched my jaw. How did she know?

"It’s really annoying, My Lord. I was just selling her off to this gentleman but she suddenly went wild and ran away. I apologise for this."

He reached out again and I put my hand out. If she went around calling "Dragon Lord" then my secret identity would be blown off.

"Let talk to her for a mont." I spoke and picked her up.

She was quite skinny and weak which made worry a little as I was careful with my strength as I turned and walked a few steps away, out of their earshot.

"How do you know who I am?"

"I-I can sense it... All of us elves can, you are our saviour and God. My Grandma told stories about your greatness. Please save us from this hell!" Her voice cracked and tears started streaming down her face.

I couldn’t help but feel the ache in my chest as watching a child in this state asking for help was making my conscience prick.

[*** of *** has assigned you a task.]

The sudden task notification made frown but what was even more confusing was that I couldn’t read the na of the person who assigned the task.

"Who?"

[Rescue the elves and dwarves.

Reward: Favour of *** of ***.

Failure: Wrath of both races and *** of ***.]

"Who the hell is this?"

[Goddess of Wisdom suggests you to accept the task.]

"What? But at least tell why? And who is this guy giving a task all of a sudden?"

[Defender of Divine Glory advices you to accept the task and not ask any questions.]

"Oi, why are you two being like this? What’s going on?"

[Goddess of Wisdom says she will explain the situation later.]

"Ugh..."

I looked down at the hopeful eyes of the little elf. I had heard the elves were really beautiful but I couldn’t call what I had in my arms beautiful, nor the ones who were sitting in the cages looking at with the sa gaze that this little elf was giving .

"Guess we don’t have much choice here." I mumbled and sighed holding the elf at my chest.

"I will save you and your friends but instead, don’t call Dragon."

The child looked at with large, radiant eyes before she grinned widely.

"Yes, Dr-God."

"I’m not God." I muttered before looking at the small crowd.

It might get ssy if I didn’t handle it properly.

"Is sothing wrong?" The man- slave trader asked as I walked back.

"No, but I’m buying them," I gestured towards the cages, "All of them."

The man’s eyes went wide.

"Pardon?"

"I said, I’m buying all of them. Tell the price."

The man stared at for a mont before he snorted and then started laughing, the rest of the people around him started laughing as well and I rolled my eyes.

"Are you trying to be the saviour for them or sothing? Do you even know how much each one of them cost? Do you really have that much money to pay?"

"That’s my problem, isn’t it?"

"And what if I don’t want to sell them to you?"

I sighed and looked at the elves and the dwarves that were strapped by the chains and handcuffs staring at with hopeful eyes.

"Ah, well... That will be a little problem,"

"Right, a big problem, Mister." He smirked.

I shook my head and corrected him, "Not for , for you."

The man laughed again.

"Oh, and what will you do? I am a trader of this place no one can get away with ssing with the mber of Izkar."

"Not even the leader of Raven Heart?" I asked and the man for a mont went silent.

"Leader of what?"

"Raven Heart has a new leader, that’s . So, I guess I can get away with dismbering you." I smiled and the man gulped before letting out a shaky laugh.

"Y-You are bluffing, there’s no way that a skinny brat like you is the leader of Raven Heart. Besides, I know their leader personally so your bluff isn’t working here."

I sighed, I was grabbing a lot of attention already and I was starting to get pissed because of not knowing why I was even getting myself involved into this. These were elves and dwarves for God’s sake, they wouldn’t be able to have a decent life anywhere in this kingdom. They would be treated as slaves anywhere they go except for back to their holand.

"Ah, I don’t have ti. Just tell how much they cost and sell them already."

"No,"

"Fine then," I turned to look at Lyall and ordered, "Cut them up."

The man laughed, "Cut them up! It’s not that easy-"

"Argh!" Lyall’s knives cut through three henchn who stepped ahead to protect their master and the man stopped laughing and stared at the dead bodies which lay on the ground.

"Wha-"

Another two went down before the man realised whom he had ssed with.

"Wa-Wait!" He shouted and Lyall moved to him.

The crowd quickly scurried away shouting as the carnage started and I stood holding the child into my arms.

The slave trader shouted and tried to get away but Lyall was swift enough to slice through his arm making him shriek.

"Stop." I called out before Lyall could slice his neck and Lyall stepped back.

The slave strader stayed on the ground breathing heavily and holding his bleeding arm.

"Does this help your answer?" I asked and the man nodded getting on his knees.

"Yes! Yes! Take them, take them all! They cost-"

"Ah, now I won’t pay you the amount you tell ."

"What?"

"You wasted my ti and pissed off. So in exchange of pardoning your life, I’ll take them for the amount that I decide." I smirked making the man’s face grow red.

"Tha-That’s fraud! You attacked us and now you refuse to pay for buying the products."

"I amicably asked for the price but you refused first, now you don’t deserve it."

The man started shouting even more and Lyall stepped ahead making him flinch.

"Thi-This is wrong! I-I will-"

"Master?" I heard a familiar voice and turned to see Kyrell walking towards us followed by Kent.

"Ah, Kyrell and Kent."

"You are still here, Master?"

"Is there a problem?" Kent asked looking at the scene.

"Yes, just a little scuffle." I said and Kyrell looked at the dead bodies and then at the slave trader on the ground.

"Rer, what are you doing?"

"Ky-Kyrell, the leader of Raven Heart?" The man gasped.

"I’m not the leader anymore," Kyrell announced making the ones around inhale sharply before looking at .

"This is the new leader of Raven Heart and our new Master." Kyrell announced gesturing at .

The slave trader Rer’s face was quite comical after that and he had to hand over the slaves without gaining any money in return. I took them off his hands for free but now the biggest question remained.

"What should I do with them?"
