Camden River pressed his thin lips together, lifted his gaze to survey the area, and then saw Talia Tong standing up.
She ascended the steps.

"I am." Camden River’s voice was calm.
"Why?"
"I don’t know why either," Camden River murmured. "I used to think everything in this world had a reason, but now I feel it’s not true. Many things in this world have no reason at all, and not only that, they don’t make sense, like emotions."
"Do you love her?" Talia Tong whispered again.
"Probably," Camden River withdrew his gaze, looked at her, and smiled.
Talia Tong bit her lip, unable to speak.
Seeing her expression, Camden River suddenly felt a little compassionate and said gently, "I understand how you feel, but like I said before, emotions don’t have reasons or logic.
