"Nathalie, are you going to take the Gaokao?"
"Uh, Nathalie, you’re not planning to go to Tsinghua University?"
"The Gaokao..."
Nathalie’s choice of Tsinghua University’s Traditional Chinese dicine Departnt was common knowledge. Her sudden announcent of taking the Gaokao caught a whole bunch of students from class A off guard. They felt sorry for her. After all, Tsinghua University was one of the most prestigious institutions in the country. Nathalie was already guaranteed admission to Tsinghua University—the thought of her taking the Gaokao and, should she perform poorly... she might end up at a less prestigious university.
But upon second thought, since Nathalie had chosen the weakest departnt of Tsinghua University, they felt it wouldn’t be a bad idea for her to take the Gaokao again and reconsider her choice of university and major.
That’s what Freddy Cagwin was thinking with a pair of calm black eyes, more composed than anyone as he said, "Have you thought it through? Are you really taking the Gaokao?"
Just as Nathalie was about to respond, her phone started vibrating.
She pulled it out of her pocket with irritation, looked down, and saw an unread text ssage from an unknown number.
As she opened the ssage, she answered Freddy, "I’ve thought about it, I’ve already discussed it with Mr. Jones and Emilia Sullivan. I’m just taking the Gaokao, not filling out any preferences, just going through the motions..."
Just taking the Gaokao, not filling out any preferences!
Everyone was puzzled.
What kind of brilliant move was this?
But upon second thought, they understood imdiately.
It was probably Tsinghua University who had reached out to Nathalie and discussed the matter with her, and that was the resulting deal...
As everyone was about to voice their thoughts,
Nathalie had already skimd through the ssage on her phone; it was from Ghania Quinlan.
It was quite furious.
[Wenny Taylor posting on the school forum and online was your idea, wasn’t it? Nathalie, what are you playing at! Weren’t you the one who broke Jecksen Wilmar’s ribs? I’m not lying. Isn’t it just that you used your connections and tricks to suppress this matter? You even had the post on No. 1 Middle School’s forum deleted, and last ti at school, you forced to apologize to you. Now you’re getting Wenny Taylor to post online again, what’s your angle?]
She had just finished reading this ssage.
And as expected, Ghania’s next ssage arrived promptly.
[I’ve canceled my university acceptance banquet for tomorrow, are you happy now?]
Nathalie half-squinted her eyes, concealing the coldness within, and took her phone impatiently. She tapped the screen and replied.
Then, with a flick of her wrist, she dragged that phone number into the blacklist.
...
anwhile,
Ghania Quinlan had already smashed everything she could in her room onto the floor, turning the whole room into chaos. Emilia Sullivan kept knocking outside, but Ghania refused to open the door.
Not until she was completely exhausted.
She collapsed onto the bed, glancing at the phone that lay tossed aside as it lit up.
In a fit of rage, she picked up the phone and opened the ssage.
[QN: Idiot!]
Ghania felt a surge of blood rush to her head, and it felt like a string in her brain was about to snap. Unable to contain her fury, she imdiately dialed the number back.
But the next second, a robotic female voice from the phone said, "Sorry, the user you are calling is not available right now. Please try again later."
The kind of situation where you’re cut off without even a ring—it only ant one thing—she had been blacklisted!
Ghania’s face turned pale with anger, she clenched her teeth, unable to hold back any longer, and ’slam’ smashed her phone onto the ground.
The phone imdiately shattered!
"Nathalie!"
She thought she had escaped the shadows of McKinney with a trip to Beijing and had been admitted to Tsinghua University, but after being slapped in the face several tis today, she realized she hadn’t...
Nathalie was like a nightmare, still looming over her head, pressing down so hard she couldn’t breathe.
