Once my blade drew closer to the eye, a giant gash ford as purple blood began to drip down from the eye. Even though I struck it with all my strength, I was just barely able to put a dent in the eye, and even this injury that I had just inflicted soon healed, as all the eye needed to do was blast back again.
Or rather, it looked like it healed at first, but despite the wound no longer being there, purple blood continued to drip down the eye, making it pause for a few monts in realization.
[Hmm...]
[Divine Energy such as this is very dangerous. I am surprised you can harness it as such.]
I scoffed.
"Thanks for the complint."
Adjusting my posture, I prepared to kick off.
But before I could, my whole body suddenly froze. My blood turned cold, and no matter how much I tried to fight back, I realized that I couldn’t.
The strength of an Eldritch monster, or rather, a Divine Beast, was way too much for to handle. But then again, with such a fine thread of energy connecting the two of us, and the Eldritch monster holding down, I decided to finally try doing what I had set out to do.
And that was to use my Mystic Eyes and send myself directly into the Eldritch monster’s energy. To my surprise, it worked like a charm, and even though it felt like ti had slowed down around , the rate at which I was moving through its energy was extrely fast.
Before long, I reached the eye. For a mont, I expected that to be it, but the energy continued on into the eyeball and beyond it. I glanced back, and only then did I realize that the eyeball was nothing but so kind of illusion, as in reality it was just one giant hole.
The sa hole I had begun traveling through. Minutes passed, and then eventually, I felt like an hour had gone by. I couldn’t see my body by now, but if I were to cancel my Mystic Eyes, I knew I could go back without trouble.
Right as I thought of doing so, I spotted sothing.
Amidst the never-ending darkness, there was so kind of white blob of energy below . I narrowed my eyes at it, and the mont I did, it felt as though the blob had felt my presence too.
And it clearly did, as I soon spotted a white eye form on the blob. Once it glanced over at , its whole body shifted, and instead of the blob-like form, it began manifesting a human-like appearance.
Before long, a tall white-haired man stood before . His physique was as perfect as one could get, almost like he had done calisthenics all of his life. Not to ntion, his eyes were even more fearso, as it felt like they were staring straight into my soul.
But just then, the man snapped his fingers, causing my Mystic Eyes form to dissipate and travel back to my body.
When I reappeared, I half expected to imdiately be tossed into battle, but instead, I saw the sa man from a mont ago. The eye from before was also gone, and clearly, the Eldritch monster had decided to take its humanoid form to greet .
Was it even greeting ?
"You look pretty innocent for soone who’s claiming to be the destroyer of humanity."
The man stared at for a mont, then sighed.
"The fact that you can enter my body and find my true self is concerning. Is this what you did with Rachel as well?"
I shrugged.
"Maybe I did. Considering it doesn’t look like you’re going to kill , mind letting go?"
"No."
The man let out a chuckle.
"If anything, I’ve grown a little curious. Tell , Amon Everness. What exactly is your motive?"
I let out a sigh and then focused on my body. Even though it felt like I couldn’t control my energy properly, I decided to wing it, forcefully overloading my heart and trying to absorb all the surrounding energy.
To my genuine surprise, I actually was able to, and for a brief mont, the empty space around quivered. My energy increased ever so slightly, and I knew for a fact that this whole space was similar to Rachel’s black hole, except that it was just taking a different form.
...Honestly, I had intended to go down into the Eldritch being’s soul and try absorbing it from there. That didn’t really work, though.
Anyhow...
"I want to get rid of all demons."
"Is that it?"
The man tilted his head.
"Such a shallow goal doesn’t befit soone like you."
Maybe not.
But seeing as how the two of us were now having a heart-to-heart, I decided to employ my second strategy, and one of the main reasons why I entered this realm in the first place.
"Do you want to form a contract with ?"
The man paused for a brief mont. Then, as if he found what I had said interesting, he smiled widely and snapped his fingers. In the next instant, a chair appeared out of nowhere. He sat down, and after crossing his legs, he asked:
"What do you have in mind?"
"Switch to neutrality," I said.
He narrowed his eyes.
"In exchange for?"
A faint smile appeared on my face.
"In exchange for you becoming neutral, I promise I’ll lead you to the heroes."
The mont I spoke those words, the surroundings turned cold. Even with Atomic Stabilization and my exponentially enhanced physique, I was as stiff as a rock.
But rightfully so.
After all, these ’heroes’ were beings who had sealed the Divine Beasts away alongside the Gods. They were the Divine Beasts’ biggest adversaries. At least, that’s everything I managed to gather from Elise.
In the end, this was my gamble, which, if it went wrong, Morr would still be able to pull out of here.
A logically risky gamble, but a psychologically accurate gamble.
Try and see if I could sohow kill the Divine Beast.
Or...
Convince it that its old enemies were still alive.
But as my confidence reached its peak, the man’s eyes narrowed as he gave one very obvious reality check.
"Do you usually jump into dangerous situations, try to kill soone, and then attempt to turn them into an ally? Seeing how you’re still doing this, I take it no one has ever put you in your place."
