"Amon...? Your injuries—"
I raised my hand, cutting Isabelle off from saying anything else. Glancing past her, I saw lina, who was taking care of the injured, and Kevin, who stood right beside the emperor.
The sight was... not nice.
The emperor’s arm was really cut off, and with my Blood Sight, I spotted so degree of poison spreading throughout his body, slowly killing him from the inside.
Odds were, by the end of the day, the emperor was going to be dead.
"..."
"Kevin."
I called out to him, then filled a bottle with my blood before tossing it over to him. He caught it, and right as he was about to give it to the emperor, one of the emperor’s children stepped in.
"Stop! What do you think you’re doing!"
"It’s a healing potion, calm down," Kevin said.
Though the entitled imperial didn’t budge. Instead, he drew a sword from his waist and pointed it at Kevin. Honestly, I didn’t even know who this guy was, since odds were he had died really early on after the demons descended. Not to ntion, his presence wasn’t that special either.
If anything, all he was doing was just playing as a clown. It was to the point that Kevin ignored his presence entirely and decided to just open the emperor’s mouth and start pouring the potion down his throat.
Seeing that, the imperial winced and dashed ahead, trying to pierce Kevin through the shoulder. For a mont, it seed like lina mumbled sothing under her breath, and to my genuine surprise, once the imperial’s sword made contact with Kevin’s shoulder, it turned to jello.
"What just—!"
Before he could mutter any more bullshit, I whacked him over the head, knocking him out. I caught him before he could fall and looked at the rest of the emperor’s children. All of them recognized the trust Kevin put in , and so they trusted as well.
But then again, after everything that happened and all that I’ve showcased, it was pretty clear that they knew my identity.
Yet amongst those bratty-looking imperials, there was one mature man, and it was the imperial prince, Lucaviel D. Quincy.
He was the next emperor, both by selection and by competence. He was the person I had asked Evelyn to support, and he was also soone I personally wanted to be in charge.
After all, he had a very special Gift.
Probability Alteration.
It was as special as it sounded, but it was also very taxing. That was only when he used it in the literal sense, doing sothing like rigging the lottery.
However, that Gift truly shined when it ca to combat. Just imagining him shooting a bullet randomly in the air, and then increasing the bullet’s probability to hit soone across the world was mind-blowing.
But for now, I acted like I didn’t know anything about him. Instead, I just smiled and approached him, handing over the imperial I had just knocked out. Afterwards, I glanced over at Kevin, who had stood up and backed off slightly.
Just then, the emperor began to tremble, almost like he was having a seizure. But the reality was much different. A thin mbrane covered his severed arm, and within monts, a new arm had grown back, appearing several years younger than his other wrinkly arm.
Not only that, the poison I had sensed in his system was gone. Instead of death, he’s likely going to wake up a little later and just feel a little tired.
Smiling to myself, I gestured at Kevin, lina, and Isabelle to follow . Once the four of us were far enough away from the others, I decided to make it brief.
"Clentine’s fighting, and I don’t have much ti. Expel your energy outwards. If you don’t know how, just shoot your most powerful attack at ."
Isabelle raised a brow.
"Do you intend to absorb it? Morr had ntioned sothing along those lines... I’m still not able to do it though."
I nodded.
"Yes. I need to recover quickly. So do it now."
There was a little bit of hesitance, but it didn’t co with bad intentions. For one, Kevin looked like soone who thought that if he didn’t have any energy, he wouldn’t be able to protect the emperor and the others.
lina, on the other hand, just seed like she didn’t want to give anything. But then again, she had grown up with violent people and people who didn’t want to share anything. For her to make herself vulnerable here... it’s against her nature.
But despite what I thought and was expecting, lina scoffed and said:
"Take this, and leave that damn parrot here. It’s been darting around the battlefield not doing anything anyway."
With every word she spoke, she transferred bits of energy to . Eventually, she had transferred enough for to restore 10% of my energy. My healing sped up, and my energy regeneration increased significantly.
Isabelle was next. She was proud, but she also recognized when to give in. In this case, she just went ahead and placed her hand on my shoulder and began infusing energy directly into . It was rough, and had I not known how to control energy properly, all of this would leak out.
But since I was more than capable, I was able to guide all that energy straight to my heart, refilling my energy reserves considerably.
By 15%, rather.
And finally, it was Kevin’s turn.
Out of everyone here, he had the worst energy control, but that’s why I gave him an alternative.
So he just nodded at , took a step back, and covered his sword in energy. He didn’t go for anything fancy, and instead just took a step forward and brought the sword down, causing a wave of energy to crash into . But then again, the power difference between us was massive.
I raised my hand and effortlessly caught the top of his blade, discharging the built-up force straight into the ground while absorbing all the energy he had, recovering my energy reserves by an additional 4%.
And in the end, I now had an extra 29% energy atop my previous 2%. With my rapid energy regeneration, I’ll be at 40% by the ti I get to Clentine.
"Thanks, you lot. Keep the emperor safe. Discharge so energy if you see soone coming."
After all, I had a suspicion that William hadn’t left fully. Or rather... the instructor who used Telekinesis was still around sowhere.
Since that might be the case, I decided to keep my eye on them, and without waiting any longer, I tapped on Morr’s beak.
Don’t be so down. You’re making believe that you’re a tsundere.
Morr glanced over at .
[I have failed in bringing you back, nearly resulting in your death.]
’Yeah. That sucks. But now I guess you have a reason to stop being lazy and actually train with . After all, if we find ourselves in the sa situation, which we will, then I’ll really be dead.’
[...]
[I understand.]
Good.
’Then let’s go finish off Alexius.’
