Vera Ford was confused, but as Ian Shelby’s secret admirer, she was actually delighted to hear it.
While checking her pulse, Vera smiled and went along with the assumption.
Jasmine sighed inwardly, feeling regretful, realizing the eligible bachelor was taken.
After a while, Vera released her hand, "Auntie, you’re recovering very quickly; your pulse is already stable. Please make sure to rest well."
After speaking, she turned around to leave, making sure not to run into Jocelyn Morgan.
Jasmine watched her silhouette disappear through the doorway, a shadow of lancholy crossing her heart...
"How could he have a girlfriend? Jocelyn finally found such an outstanding guy," Jasmine muttered, furrowing her brows, truly anxious.
Outside the ward in the corridor, Vera walked towards her office, filled with questions.
Who is that auntie to Jocelyn Morgan?
Why would she think she’s Ian’s girlfriend?
Who spread this rumor?
Or did Ian tell her sothing that led to this misunderstanding?
Did Ian reject Jocelyn and use her as a scapegoat?
Vera had just entered her office when Jocelyn and Ian ca out, heading towards Jasmine’s hospital room.
At this mont, her phone rang. She took a look and saw that it was a call from Cecilia Dunn.
Jocelyn couldn’t help but slow her pace, answering the call, "Hello."
Ian didn’t wait for her and went straight into the ward.
Jocelyn stood outside taking the call, not going inside.
Seeing Ian, the previously dejected Jasmine quickly regained her composure, "Dr. Shelby, when can I be discharged?"
"Tomorrow," Ian replied warmly. "I’ll give you a detailed check-up now; just lie down and breathe steadily," he said, taking out a small device.
Jasmine’s admiring gaze lingered on him, liking him more the longer she looked.
She couldn’t help but sigh, "Oh dear, why are all the outstanding n taken?"
"What?"
Ian glanced up from the data on the device, not understanding her.
Jasmine, being straightforward at her age, spoke frankly, "I just think you and our Jocelyn are quite a match."
Ian was slightly stunned, looking at her without speaking.
She sighed again, "I just didn’t expect you already had a girlfriend."
Ian didn’t stop the check-up, and amidst Jasmine’s shattered beliefs, he responded gently, "I don’t have a girlfriend."
Jasmine was startled, her gaze filled with surprise and joy as she looked at him, "Really? So what is Vera Ford to you?"
"A colleague," Ian replied calmly, though fuming inwardly, wondering which bastard spread the rumor.
"That girl Jocelyn tricked !" Jasmine grumbled, but she was pleased inside and smiled, "Don’t take it to heart; it was just a misunderstanding."
Ian remained calm, continuing the check-up.
Jasmine admired Ian, finding his deanor so gentle and handso, even his profile was so soft. So young yet knowledgeable, he truly was charming!
Even a woman of her age was captivated by Ian—Jocelyn would surely like this type.
"Dr. Shelby, can I stay in the hospital a few more days?" Jasmine was scheming to quickly bring the two youngsters closer.
Ian turned to look at her, "Why?" He’s only ever seen people eager to be discharged, not those who want to linger.
