Barbara Sutton raised her eyes, a sour feeling welling up in her heart, but she calmly replied, "She’s off work now."
Where did she go after work? Where does she live?
Finn Morgan felt she was acting strangely today, so he asked, "What’s up with her? Did she say anything to you?"
This question made Barbara sense a hint of concern.
She said, "There are rumors in the company that you two are going to have a flash marriage. She said that’s not true, maybe... she’s deliberately keeping her distance from you."
For such baseless rumors, Finn was utterly speechless.
He didn’t say much, just turned around and left.
At this mont, on the first floor lobby, Hailey Hale had already stepped out of the elevator and was heading towards the exit.
This is so frustrating, why are there such ridiculous rumors spreading? It’s utterly unbelievable!
What flash marriage?
They’re not even dating, and people are spreading rumors about marriage? Do these people even have brains?
As she walked out of the lobby’s revolving glass door, Hailey was startled by a scene outside and stopped in her tracks.
"Hailey! Please agree to date !" A chubby male classmate approached, holding a large bouquet of roses, forcibly trying to stuff them in her arms.
"No, no, no, no, no!" Hailey was frightened and kept backing away, using her hands to push the flowers, "Chubby! Why did you even follow to my workplace?"
"Yeah! I’ve been looking for you everywhere! I asked a lot of people to find out you work here!" The chubby guy said with a face full of joy, holding the roses, "Will you marry ? I’ll treat you well for a lifeti!"
The next second, not far away, four guys unrolled two banners on the stairs!
The banners read — Please Marry , Hailey!
Seeing this scene, Hailey was almost angered to the point of vomiting blood!
A flurry of discussions erupted behind her, she didn’t even have the ti to look back, yelling at the chubby guy, "Are you out of your mind!" She was really angry, "Move away! Stop causing trouble!"
At the entrance behind her, the company employees witnessing this scene had a thousand questions—
"What’s going on? Wasn’t she supposed to marry Special Assistant Morgan?"
"How co soone else jumped out for a proposal halfway?"
"Trying to steal Special Assistant Morgan’s partner?"
"Is she herself two-timing?"
Hailey was infuriated, pushing the guy, "Get away!!" It was simply affecting her image.
The chubby guy blocked her way, saying tenderly, "Hmph! I won’t leave unless you agree!"
At this mont, Finn Morgan strode towards the entrance. This ridiculous scene fell into his deep eyes, and he also saw the words on the banners.
The female employees quieted down when they spotted Special Assistant Morgan, all waiting to see what exciting event would unfold next!
Special Assistant Morgan’s eyes narrowed slightly, his steps resolute.
Just as Hailey was angrily screaming, Finn seized her shoulders, pulling her into his arms.
The girl turned her head abruptly, catching sight of a familiar handso face, then looked at her shoulder, which was held by his big hand, her heart seemingly skipped a beat.
Finn glared coldly at the chubby guy, using just his gaze as a warning, saying nothing.
The still-a-student chubby guy was subdued by this aura, stunned for a second! His reaction was a half-beat slow.
Amid the astonished gazes of the onlookers, Finn held Hailey as they descended the stairs.
Hailey herself was stunned, her mind buzzing, as Finn held open the car door for her, "Get in." He protected her as she sat in the car.
Without any thought, he had co to her rescue, which shocked Hailey imnsely.
"Chase them! What are you standing there for?!"
As Finn’s car started, Hailey heard the chubby guy shouting, she turned her head sharply to look out the window, and saw them quickly rolling up the banners and getting into a car one after another!
"Oh my god! Are they really going to chase us?" She was utterly at a loss for words, what kind of ridiculous situation was this?
