Lin Mu leaned forward slightly.
"What made them different?"
Miyeon looked at him directly.
"They could transform into humans."
The carriage fell silent.
ng Bai's jaw dropped.
"...What?"
Cattaleya sat upright.
"You an actual transformation?"
"Yes," Miyeon said.
"They could take on human forms."
Lin Mu's eyes narrowed in deep thought.
Transformation into a humanoid form was not unheard of among powerful beasts.
But it was extrely rare.
Usually such transformations only occurred when a beast reached the peak of the Immortal Realm or possessed an extraordinary bloodline.
Lin Mu himself had only seen one true example before.
The Flood Dragon.
Qiulong Jiao.
The dragon he had encountered in the Rust Sky World had been able to take on a human form as well.
But Qiulong Jiao had been an incredibly powerful being with an ancient bloodline of the Azure Dragon itself. It was not sothing ordinary beasts could accomplish.
Daoist Chu spoke thoughtfully.
"Transformation ability depends heavily on bloodline purity."
Miyeon nodded.
"That is correct."
Lin Mu added quietly.
"Even beasts that reach the peak Immortal Realm may fail to transform if their
bloodline is insufficient."
Miycon looked impressed.
"You understand the theory well."
Lin Mu continued.
"There are also interdiate cases."
"So beasts partially transform."
"For example, a bipedal body with fur and a beast head."
ng Bai nodded.
"I have read of such cases in my studies. They are neither fully beast nor true beastkin in that form."
"Correct," Miyeon said.
"And sotis the opposite occurs."
ng Bai raised a brow. "The opposite?"
"Yes."
"So bloodlines are so powerful that even transcendent beasts cannot easily transform."
"They may require Celestial level cultivation before they can take human form."
Lin Mu nodded slowly.
That matched many ancient records.
However, Miyeon's explanation had revealed sothing unusual.
"The Frost Fox beasts could transform without reaching that level," Lin Mu said.
"Yes."
Miyeon folded her hands calmly.
"That is what makes them special."
"They possess an extrely rare bloodline that allows them to take humanoid forms far earlier than most beasts."
Cattaleya rubbed her chin.
"That sounds similar to another famous fox clan."
Miyeon nodded.
"You are thinking of the Nine Tailed Foxes"
Lin Mu's eyes flickered slightly.
The Nine Tailed Fox.
One of the most legendary fox bloodlines in existence.
"They are famous for their illusion and charm abilities," Miyeon continued.
"It is said that even in the Spirit Realm, Nine Tailed Foxes can transform into
human forms."
Daoist Chu nodded.
"Yes. Their illusion techniques are legendary."
Miyeon added another detail.
"But not all fox clans possess that ability. Many fox beasts can never fully
transform, regardless of cultivation."
She looked back toward Lin Mu.
"The Frost Fox beasts are one of the rare exceptions."
ng Bai leaned forward with fascination.
"So the Frost Fox Clan is related to those beasts?"
Miyeon nodded.
"Yes,"
"Long ago, so Frost Fox beasts began interacting with the arriving foxkin
tribes."
"Over ti, bloodlines mixed."
"And eventually the Frost Fox Clan erged."
Huli Zu added casually.
"They can be considered the descendants of those early unions."
Lin Mu finally understood.
"So the Frost Fox Clan rules the continent because they are connected to the
original rulers."
Miyeon smiled faintly.
"Exactly."
"The Frost Fox beasts still dominate the land."
"But they recognize the Frost Fox Clan as their kin."
"That is why the continent remains stable despite the clan's small population."
Daoist Chu nodded slowly.
"That makes perfect sense."
Cattaleya leaned back with a grin.
"So they basically inherited an entire continent because their ancestors
married the locals in an ancient ti."
Huli Zu laughed loudly.
"When you put it that way... yes."
Lin Mu silently processed everything he had heard.
Fox clans.
Ancient beast bloodlines.
Transforming Frost Fox beasts ruling a continent. This world was far more
unusual than it had initially appeared. And the deeper they looked, the more mysteries it seed to reveal.
The conversation inside the carriage continued smoothly as the road carried them across the countryside.
Lin Mu had already learned a surprising amount about the Fox Scion World, but
the ntion of the Frost Fox Clan had sparked his curiosity far more than expected. He leaned slightly forward as Miyeon continued her explanation. "From what we know," she said calmly, "the Frost Fox Clan has existed for an
extrely long ti in this world."
"But their history is not entirely straightforward."
Lin Mu raised a brow.
"Oh?" Miyeon nodded.
"For a long period of ti, the immortal world believed that the Frost Fox
lineage had vanished."
Cattaleya blinked.
"Vanished?"
"Yes," Miyeon said.
"Their bloodline had grown incredibly rare across many worlds."
"In fact, many scholars believed that the Frost Fox lineage had either diluted
beyond recognition or disappeared entirely."
Daoist Chu nodded thoughtfully.
"That would not be unusual,"
"Many ancient beast bloodlines have faded over ti."
Miyeon continued.
"So when it was discovered that a Frost Fox lineage still survived here in the
Fox Scion World..."
She paused slightly.
"The foxkin were extrely joyous."
Huli Zu smiled.
"After all, they could still be considered distant kin."
Lin Mu understood the reasoning imdiately.
The foxkin themselves had originated through the mixing of beast and human
bloodlines.
If the Frost Fox Clan traced their lineage to Frost Fox beasts, then their
connection was undeniable.
"They must have been eager to et them," Lin Mu said.
"Oh yes," Huli Zu replied. "They wasted no ti at all."
Miyeon added further details.
"The Frost Fox Clan itself was ford long ago through the union between a
human cultivator and a Frost Fox beast."
"That union eventually created the Frost Foxkin bloodline."
ng Bai looked fascinated.
"So their entire clan traces back to that single union?"
"More or less," Miyeon said.
"Of course, over the centuries there have been many additional bloodline
integrations."
"But the origin remains the sa."
Huli Zu leaned back slightly.
"When the foxkin tribes arrived here and discovered that their long lost kin
were alive..."
He spread his hands.
"They treated them as family."
Cattaleya grinned.
"And the Frost Foxes accepted them?"
"Very warmly," Miyeon said. "There was no hostility."
"Instead, it beca a relationship built on friendship and cooperation."
She gestured lightly. "And many marriages."
