The Dullahan wrapped his whip around Damian's body, trapping him in place. Just like before, the whip began to ooze a purple aura before Damian's body began jerking violently as he roared in pain.

Cerberus used the opportunity to knock him down to the ground. With Damian on the ground below , I slamd my claws into his chest as I fell from the air. A spiral of cobwebs like cracks spread out on the ground until the entire rooftop leveled, collapsing onto the floor below.

Cerberus and the Dullahan returned to my shadow while I switched places with one of my shadow hounds to get away from the wreckage.

Through the eyes of one of my ravens, I watched the wreckage from afar, looking for any signs of movent. The Dullahan was the first to crawl from my shadow and take a protective stance in front of .

I also had Skoll and Hati standing beside in case I needed to freeze ti for a few seconds. Just then, as we stood and waited for what would happen next, a giant slab of wall ca flying through the cloud of dust.

Seeing the giant slab of wall heading towards , the Dullahan imdiately stepped into its path, and at the sa ti, I readied one of my shadow hounds for what was to co. The impact caused the slab of concrete to explode against the Dullahan's body.

The impact barely scratched his armor, but it was what was hidden behind the slab of concrete that was the real danger. The slab of concrete was just a distraction for us to lower our guard. Damian was hidden behind it, following its path so we couldn't see him.

When the slab of concrete impacted the Dullahan's body, Damian's hands burst forth and ripped through the Dullahan's chest plate as if it was made of butter. At the sa ti, I switched places with the shadow hound I had readied before.

My entire body was covered in hellfire flas, making look like a man on fire. I appeared behind Damian the mont his hand ripped through the Dullahan's chest.

I sank my claws into his side, just below his ribcage where there wasn't a lot of muscle. With a bit of force, my claws pierced through his skin, and my hellfire siphoned off his life force. I might not be able to kill him with this thod, but maybe I could lower his strength to where we could fight as equals.

With his body severely damaged, the Dullahan poofed into black smoke and returned to my shadow. I would have to do without him for the ti being. It could take several hours before he was healed enough to fight, but the mont he was, he would return here.

He was my knight and my most valued general after all.

The mont my claws pierced his flesh, I switched places with another of my shadow hounds, who was just a few ters away from him. Damian swung his hand only to swing at air.

"Why don't you just die? You're more of a cockroach than a wolf."

For the first ti, he spoke, and it felt as if the air pressure had dropped. The hate and the bloodlust oozing off of him was just unreal.

"If you want dead, then you'll have to catch first." I said before crouching low on the ground in preparation for any attack he might throw my way.

A low growl escaped him, and suddenly, his pale yellow eyes began to change colors. For the first ti, he started looking like a vampire. His eyes beca blood red, and in the next instance, his feet exploded from the ground as he ripped through the air towards .

We fought for hours on end. I dodged death countless tis by the skin of my teeth, and every ti I did, it felt as if Damian's rage caused him to grow stronger for it. But by switching places with my shadow hounds and having Skoll and Hati stop ti whenever I was in a pinch, I was able to evade him.

Yet still, it was hard to imagine keeping this up for days. In just a few more hours, Skoll and Hati were burnt out and were forced to return to my shadow realm. The sa went for most of my shadow hounds. I was now down to ten.

But that was all I needed. I realized that my shadow hounds could only fight for 1 hour against Damian before losing all their stamina. Because of this, I only used 10 shadow hounds at a ti and kept them in a cycle. While ten shadow hounds were fighting by my side, the others would be resting.

To be honest, it was impressive that they were able to keep up with Damian in the first place, so I wasn't upset that they needed to rest. The Garmrs had a stronger vitality than my shadow hounds and could fight for three hours.

I also kept the Garmrs in a cycle, using only 10 of them at a ti. I got to see their different abilities and learned how to use them more effectively during combat. I even combined their special abilities to create different combination of attacks.

For example their was one Garmr with water ability, another with electrical energy and another that could sprout giant tree roots from the ground.

The tree roots would hold down Damian while the Garmrs with electricity and water ability would combine power and attack him. There were many more combinations I discovered during the heat of battle.

Skoll and Hati were different from the other Garmrs. They could fight alongside for 6 hours before they needed to take a break for another 6 hours. But since they could only use their ability together every one-hour interval, it ant I had to use them wisely.

Cerberus and the Dullahan were the most resilient of them all. They could fight for 12 hours straight before needing to take a break. so half the day I had Cerberus by my side and the other half I had the Dullahan.

After 3 days of fighting without stopping, my clothes beca re rags on my body. My muscles were bulging, and my body ached all over. My hair was a ss. Looking at , one would think that I was a hobo.

The only good thing out of this situation was that I could feel my body changing. It was as if I was adapting to the constant combat. I had even mastered my wolf transformation and could switch forms at will.

This was possible in the first place because my bond with Sylvie had reached its max, but still, it usually took a lot of training to master. Put into this life-or-death situation, I had no choice but to adapt and master it quickly.

I wasn't the only one adapting during this fight. Damian was too. He could now see through all my petty tricks, so I had to constantly co up with more ways to fight against him. He knew all my moves and strategies, so I had to constantly co up with new ones.

The way he was adapting worried , but what worried the most was my pack. I used my ravens to keep an eye on what was going on throughout the city.

My pack, which had been tasked with wiping out a population of 4 million, only managed to kill roughly 10,000 in the span of three days!
