Right by a side gate closed off with iron bars!
The knight waved at him and, sohow triggering a chanism, opened the iron gate!
"Everyone, the side gate is clear!" Todd imdiately shouted and was the first to run towards the side gate.
The Undead Demon was still entangled with the group, but the knight dashed out of the side gate and hurled a Fla Pot at the opponent, causing the Undead Demon to howl in pain from the scorching heat.
"Good, very effective!" Hevi couldn't help but praise.
The unnad Upper Knight from Astara nodded at them and turned to run into the side gate.
The people seized the opportunity when the Undead Demon was scorched and made a dash for the side gate, all rushing through without incident.
The Undead Demon smashed its massive club against the side gate with all its might, but the architecture here seed extrely sturdy, not even it could break the walls.
Running a bit further through the side gate, Hevi saw sothing he had long missed.
It was the long-lost bonfire!
He dashed over to ignite it, and the familiar warmth from the flas replaced the disturbance brought by the Undead Demon, instilling an infinite sense of peace.
The people imdiately sat around the bonfire to rest, the space was a bit cramped, and those seated were bumping shoulders to stay within the fire's glow.
"The one who opened the gate for us earlier, was that the sa person who threw you the key?" Hevi looked at Todd.
"Yes, I didn't expect that even this ti we couldn't catch up to him." Todd said regretfully.
"I have a hunch he'll beco a helpful ally in our adventure here, at least we'll get so good stuff." Said the Starfire Knight to Hevi's left, with an 'I understand' expression.
"You understand? Who was it that ntioned the ground might cave in, maybe lift your head and look at the sky?" Soone on Hevi's right said.
"Did you look? Yet you're calling out? If it wasn't for you almost flinging that solid chunk at my face, I would have hit the monster on the head with a brick."
"Heh, I missed because you didn't follow orders?"
The two leaned back awkwardly, shoving shoulder against shoulder like bickering children.
"Can we stop arguing? After all, we're adults who've been through the fires of war." Hevi served as the diator, visibly exasperated.
Then, those two turned their united front to teasingly press against his shoulders.
In the end, all the Starfire Knights crowded together in a circle, joking around like it was so kind of mysterious ritual.
"I don't understand how you can still laugh...at a ti like this..." The frail Magician Todd was forcibly squeezed in the middle, left only to make sarcastic comnts.
It was clear to see that this group from the Starfire Church had close bonds with each other.
But in such an atmosphere, Todd only felt very out of place.
When they were well-rested, they all got up to depart. The Undead Demon still lingered outside, so their only option was to explore the interior of the building that the side gate led to.
At this mont, a piece of advice, left by who knows, appeared on the floor ahead of them:
[Warehouse ahead, it's ti to retrieve the weapons]
"It must have been left by that knight!" Todd seed a little happy, even he didn't notice it himself.
"That person must be a Sun Warrior." Said the Starfire Knights.
"It feels like the first ti we t Solar. Could it be that Sain Dungeon favors preserving the residual shadows of noble ancient figures?" Hevi mused, stroking his chin, and suddenly clapped his hands, saying:
"If I help others actively here, will Sain keep my residual shadow in the future?"
"That's impossible, no matter how you think about it."
Todd muttered softly, thinking the idea a bit far-fetched, and turned to head towards the corner marked as the warehouse ahead.
Within less than a second, he ran back from the corner, his face pale.
"What's wrong?" Hevi looked at him puzzled.
"Bl- Bla...black..."
Todd's teeth chattered in fright.
"Black Knight!"
