After saying that, Caesar turned and ran off, leaving Wise no chance to reply.

'What am I supposed to do now? Go after her? No... that'd just make things worse. It'd be too awkward. I should just wait until next ti we et.'

That was what Wise thought, but to his surprise, Caesar avoided him for the entire day. Whenever they happened to run into each other, she would quickly look away and leave, never bringing up what had happened.

If not for the faint blush that still appeared on her face every ti she saw him, Wise might have believed she had already forgotten everything.

Seeing her like this, Wise decided not to press the matter. For the next few days, he simply went to her at a fixed ti for one-on-one training, acting as if nothing had happened.

No one else seed to care much. Piper and Burnice showed no interest at all.

Lucy, however, was still uneasy about Kasa's possible betrayal being exposed to Caesar, so she was more than happy to see Caesar's attention directed elsewhere.

As for Lighter, there was nothing to complain about. With Wise helping share the burden of getting beaten during training, he was actually grateful.

Just like that, a few days passed. Soon, the night Blazewood was scheduled to transport the goods arrived.

Not long after Kasa left town, Lucy, Wise, and the others moved as well, quietly following behind her.

This ti, Belle handled the synchronization with Eous and guided everyone from a distance, while Wise chose to go in alongside the group.

"Alright, we're inside the Hollow."

Lucy swept her gaze across the group. Wise stood beside her, Lighter was nearby, and Piper remained close, while Belle controlled Eous.

Everyone was in position.

"Are Burnice and Caesar alright?" Wise asked, unable to hide his concern.

For so reason, he couldn't shake off the uneasy feeling in his chest.

"Don't worry, I checked. Caesar is already asleep—her routine has always been very regular. Speaking of which, how did you manage to make Burnice behave?"

"I sent her so cat-petting techniques on my phone. She got excited and ran off to try them imdiately," Wise answered honestly, without hiding anything.

That was exactly what happened, though he conveniently left out that she had planned to use him as the test subject.

"Good. Earlier, Lighter didn't store the fuel properly, and Burnice got high off it. I thought we were about to have another ss on our hands," Lucy said, glancing at Lighter.

He awkwardly adjusted his sunglasses, clearly embarrassed.

Wearing sunglasses inside the Hollow at night looked ridiculous, but for him, looking cool ca first.

"Enough talking. Let's move. What we're doing tonight can only be handled by us," Lucy said, signaling everyone to follow Kasa quietly.

To avoid being noticed, they kept their distance—but that only made things more troubleso.

"Damn Ethereals! Are you all asking to be sent flying?!"

Lucy swung her iron bat with force, sending the Ethereal in front of her soaring into the air. Watching this, Piper let out a small sigh and spoke up.

"Lucy~ I know you're in a rush, but take it easy~ If we make too much noise, Kasa might notice us."

Even as she said that, Piper swung her own axe-hamr just as fiercely, causing a disturbance no smaller than Lucy's.

After dealing with the Ethereal, the group continued along Kasa's trail and soon reached a warehouse.

Inside, they ca across an old Bangboo. After a bit of questioning, they confird it belonged to Kasa, and from the way it spoke, it was clearly simple-minded.

Even so, they managed to extract useful details. It ntioned traders, one with pointed ears and another tall man, enough to give them a rough idea of who they were dealing with.

It also revealed that Kasa had already slipped away through a crack behind a cargo box, heading elsewhere. Not wanting to lose her, the group quickly followed.

Before long, they found her again. She stepped into an open area, glancing around as if waiting for soone.

"I've co as agreed! Hey, is anyone here?"

Her voice echoed through the empty space. For a mont, there was only silence, until another voice cut through the night.

"The deal was… that you'd co alone, wasn't it?"

Looking toward the source, Kasa spotted a black wolf Thiren perched on a nearby street lamp. She imdiately recognized him.

"Mors? What are you talking about? Just hand over the goods. Now."

She frowned, confused by his accusation. As far as she knew, she had followed the terms.

Mors didn't bother arguing. He dropped down from the lamp and landed right in front of her, pressing his weapon against her neck.

Kasa didn't flinch.

"If you want sothing, you have to pay the price. So how about…"

Before he could finish, he suddenly drew the pistol at his waist and fired toward an iron plate nearby, where Lucy and the others were hiding.

"I'll just take it from the Sons of Calydon!"

Behind the iron plate, Lucy narrowly avoided the shot thanks to her height, though her helt was knocked crooked.

Clicking her tongue, she grabbed the helt and fixed it back into place. Since they had already been exposed, there was no point in holding back.

She raised her iron bat and charged forward, with Wise and the others right behind her.

Kasa froze, her eyes widening in shock. She hadn't noticed them at all.

At the sa ti, Lucy shot her a furious glare.

Kasa tried to explain herself, but Lucy, convinced she had already figured everything out, didn't give her the chance.

anwhile, Mors sensed the shift in the situation. Without hesitation, he turned and fled, rushing toward his motorcycle in an attempt to escape.

The group imdiately chased after him. But when they reached the slope, they found his motorcycle lying on the ground, abandoned.

At the top, Mors had already been subdued.

And standing there was Caesar.

"Caesar… why are you here?" Wise asked, staring at her back as she stood beside a pile of supplies, unsure how to react.

Lucy arrived a second later and spoke up imdiately.

"Caesar, calm down and listen. The Town Mayor and the Overlord's people—"

"Enough. I know," Caesar cut her off. "These supplies will corrode if they stay in the Hollow. Kasa… sigh… take them away."

She exhaled deeply, and the weight in her voice was impossible to miss.

Lucy and Kasa exchanged stunned looks. Even after everything, after Kasa had practically been exposed as a traitor, Caesar was still putting the town first.

The truth was, ever since Blazewood's gas station ran dry, the town had been struggling to stay afloat.

That was exactly what Kasa had been trying to explain all along.
