Now reading: Chapter 204: Are Heroes Different Here? from From a Talentless nobody to An SSS Class Dragon, a Fantasy novel by KotaSama.

The sound of the horses galloping is all I can focus on after answering Eliza. It is interesting how she can sense my power the way she does.

"Eliza, are heroes different here? I don’t know if anyone has really asked about it." Aria asks with a curious tone.

Eliza leans back and shifts her head towards Aria. "Different in what way?" She questions instead.

"Are they actually heroes or do they work for this Lord?" Aria responds with a different question.

A back and forth of questions is always interesting to see I guess. I didn’t really think much about the heroes of the demon realms since I assud they’d be an enemy.

It probably would’ve been smarter to ask Eliza about it in the first place since she’s been here the longest. Or I guess maybe Lilly could’ve known sothing about the heroes of the demon realms.

"The heroes here used to help during the waves. The waves that were sent by the monarch who manipulates the sovereign now. But ever since the waves died down... The heroes have not really been seen." Eliza answers, a bit of sadness can be heard in her voice.

"I see. That is awful." Aria says with a quiet tone.

Heroes that just disappear when the battle is far from over. That is definitely sothing I wouldn’t expect when the sovereign is being controlled.

They should want to strive to protect the others from the monarch as well but I guess they don’t believe it. That would be the most logical conclusion in my mind... They don’t believe the monarch is actually controlling anyone.

I’m not in their shoes so I wouldn’t understand if it was obvious or not. In my world no one really knows about the monarchs.

It was never made clear to the people that a being higher up caused anything... Everyone still believes it was just a star that caused the collapse.

It is better off that way though Rokuro. People would panic if they knew what you do about the monarchs because they are way scarier than so star.

A star doesn’t have a physical body that would scare the crap out of people. It is just sothing that appears and disappears before they can even react.

I get that but I’d still prefer to know the real beings behind it all. The ones who ruined my world and made everything the way it is today.

Sitting around blaming so star for everything that happened felt stupid for the longest ti. It all made more sense when I learned about the monarchs and what they are trying to achieve.

We are running out of ti in the grand sche of things since everything is going to keep evolving until everyone is dead... Everyone except the strongest hunters possible.

They’ll be recruited into the monarchs army.

"Rokuro is kind of a hero." Aria says with a bit of joy in her voice.

My attention imdiately shifts towards Aria. "I haven’t done anything that heroic." I reply with a bit of a nervous tone.

"You saved Elyndra, cleared out two different towers, and fought so cult. I’d say that classifies you as a hero." Aria says with a smile.

Eliza also seems to be smiling at the sound of hearing all this. "Makes sense why Lilly would be by your side now. You have a good heart, one that follows the right path." Eliza chis in with happiness in her voice.

"I’d like to believe I’m on the right path all the ti but sotis it doesn’t always feel that way. Especially with everything I’ve killed." I respond while clenching my fist.

"Sotis things have to die. That’s just how it goes. I don’t think you should let it weigh on you too much." Eliza says with a genuine tone.

"Yeah." I reply before going quiet.

It has only gotten easier to kill the enemies I fight against... I don’t really know if that’s a good thing or not. It doesn’t weigh on very much if I’m being honest.

That’s what makes wonder if I’m slowly becoming a monster myself.

They don’t care about what they kill or how many things they kill. Monsters just keep moving forward as if it doesn’t matter in the slightest.

You aren’t a monster Rokuro. Every being you killed was the right call.

Then why does it feel like I am? Killing doesn’t bother in the slightest and the bloodlust just makes crave it more. Kill until my hearts content, that’s all that cos to my mind in fights.

It’ll be fine Rokuro. You have people by your side to help with it all, plus of course.

I do have all of you so I guess that’s true. As long as it’ll keep from going too far in the future. That’s the important part.

The day I hurt soone close to is the day I know that I’ve beco the very monster that I think I’m becoming. At least that’s the best way to keep my mind away from that mindset.

So ti passes by and the carriage cos to a stop. My only assumption would be that we made it to our destination since there is no other reason to stop.

So I peek out the back of the carriage to see a giant wall ahead of us. Stone walls with silver plates lined along the walls themselves.

"Is this the place?" I ask with a bit of confusion in my voice.

"We are just waiting for them to open the gates." The driver responds back to .

So we did make it to the Kingdom of HeartFell but that’s quite the wall. Kingdoms were probably always like this, stories describe them differently.

Well the ones I knew of didn’t describe the walls like this but I can’t say I’m surprised with the kind of landscape we’re in.

I can feel Velia place her hand on top of mine. "Don’t worry about the way it looks. I’ve seen way worse looking kingdoms in my world." Velia says with a bit of a reassuring tone.

"I appreciate the reassurance. I didn’t expect you to be the one to give it either." I reply quietly.

"I don’t usually expect this kind of thing myself but I guess so stuff changed ever since we climbed that tower together." Velia says while trying to keep a smile hidden.

Sotis I forget that we climbed the first tower together and there was a few tis I almost died as well. She was worried when I went down against that demon.

He was probably the strongest fight I had at the ti since I was still adjusting to my power.

But regardless everything there helped us get closer and closer. I don’t think she’s always the sa monotone girl anymore, she has changed in a lot of good ways.

Maybe she’ll finally start to show more emotions, even if it is a bit hard for her to do.

"I’m happy it did though. The changes I an.. I’m happy they happened. It’s nice to see you aren’t just a robot playing human." I respond softly with a bit of happiness in my voice.

"Y-Yeah. I guess it isn’t completely terrible." Velia says with a bit of a nervous tone in her voice.

I know Ghost isn’t completely human but even she has more emotions than Velia. That’s why it is such an improvent to see her acting like this after everything that’s happened.

She’s showing that she isn’t just a robot all the ti with the sa tone following her every sentence. That makes it a lot easier to understand her.

I know she still has that look when it cos to killing monsters but I honestly don’t think it’s bad anymore. I never once thought about how my face must look when I’m killing anything.

Is it serious, calm, smiling like a mad man, or nothing at all? I never thought to ask.

Creeeeek!!! The sound of a gate opening up is finally heard. "Alright we’re heading inside now." The driver says with a calm tone.

The carriage slowly begins to move once again as we finally enter the kingdom of HeartFell. It was actually starting to get louder with each step we took into the kingdom.

Well, each step the horses took with the carriage. Demons were all talking amongst each other in the streets and I could even see so market stands up.

It was a lot more peaceful than I expected for so reason. People were buying or trading at these stands while others enjoyed each other’s company.

Is this place really that bad or is this just how it is within the kingdom walls?

"I apologize. The festival is going on today so it is a bit busier than usual." The driver says with a genuine tone.

"No worries. Seems like the perfect ti to be here." Eliza responds before anyone else.

Be careful as you explore the streets here. Sothing feels off Rokuro, just watch for any suspicious people.
