’I can’t give up now! Not now!’. I thought to myself and struggled with everything I had left.
As I broke free from him, I ran towards the deadly nightshade herb. Strange, how the heck is a deadly nightshade herb in a place like this?
And the herbs I used to treat that injured warrior, how the heck did they grow in such a place like that? I never expected to find that herb, even though I had it in my mind. This is not a coincidence. It seems as if the universe is helping . But, didn’t the universe hate ?!
After I stood a step away from the deadly nightshade herb, I transford into my human form and grabbed the herb with my hand, because when I was in my wolf form, I couldn’t possibly grab the herb with my paws except my teeth. And the nightshade herb is extrely dangerous, so holding it with my teeth would put in a very dangerous situation.
I quickly turned to the rogue werewolf, who opened his mouth and wanted to bite my head off. I threw the nightshade herb into his wide open mouth, before I transford into my wolf form and used my strength to cover his mouth, so that he wouldn’t be able to spill the herb out.
I refused to let go of his mouth no matter how hard he struggled and scratched my body with his sharp claws.
I only let go of him and backed away after he finally collapsed on the ground.
"Yo- you! Aaaa! What did you do to ?! What did you feed ?!". He groaned and tried to get up from the ground but ended up falling and coughing out blood from his mouth.
"You are soon going to die, Mr rogue werewolf. What use is it for to reply to a dead person? I advise you to stay still and wait for death to co for you". I said to him, before I returned to being a human.
I had drained all my energy, causing to sit on the ground as I breathed heavily non-stop. Beads of sweat were coming down from my head, while so ford on my forehead. My throat felt dry, and it was as if I had not drunk water for ages.
Luckily, I was injured when I was in my wolf form, so I felt only slight pain all over my body. I should shift into my wolf form later and get my injuries treated.
’I can’t believe that, Clara. You survived? How? He was clearly stronger than you. You got to the herb without him killing you? That does not make sense to ’. Elektra asked .
"Having strength isn’t everything, Elektra. Sotis, if you can not handle a situation, you have to use your other power, which is wisdom and survivor’s instinct". I said to her without mind - linking her, since she could hear my voice.
I stopped sitting and laid on the ground. My back was lying flat on the ground while my red eyes were fixed on the full moon and the countless beautiful stars. I smiled when I couldn’t hear the rogue werewolf breathing anymore. "I did it. I succeeded in killing one of the rogue werewolves. This is insane. I killed soone. I shouldn’t feel guilty. He deserved it". I muttered, and the smile on my face grew.
’Thanks, Clara. You killed the leader of the rogue werewolves. You have avenged my parents’ death for ’. Elektra greeted .
I chose not to reply to her.
Although I had killed the leader of the rogue werewolves, I killed him with the intention of becoming an alpha. I didn’t do it to avenge the previous Alpha and Luna.
"Good job, Anastasia".
My eyebrows furrowed when I heard Beta Damien’s voice. I thought I was hallucinating. I rose from the ground and stood on my feet before looking around. I saw Damien, who was in his human form.
The black clothes he was wearing made him look like a grim reaper.
"You have passed my test, Anastasia. I watched you throughout after I had killed those seven rogue werewolves. You successfully killed the rogue werewolves’ leader without Elektra’s help. As I promised, I will acknowledge you as the shadows’ pack Alpha". Damien said to . He knelt on one knee before with his head lowered.
’So he truly knew that this wolf was the rogue werewolves’ leader?!’. I gritted my teeth and clenched my fists as I thought. Didn’t he know that I struggled and almost died?! I can’t believe he was watching all this while but chose not to help out! I asked him, "Was it on purpose? Did you know that he was the leader? Was that why you told to handle him?".
"Yes". He answered . He lifted his head and stared at with an indifferent look on his face. "For you to beco an Alpha, you must prove yourself, and you did that. You have proven yourself to . So now, I, Beta Damien, acknowledge and vow to take you as my new Alpha starting from this mont. I will remain loyal to you for the rest of my life and protect you and train you, until after you fulfill your wish and beco strong enough to defend yourself and your Alpha title".
I stared at Beta Damien in disbelief and didn’t say any other word to him. I was angry at him but didn’t know how to vent it out on him. I shook my head and chuckled in disbelief.
Later, I turned away from him and walked away.
Thinking about how he silently watched as I struggled to escape from death, caused my mind to go insane.
’I need to be alone’.
’Beta Damien is too much, Clara! How dare he do that to us?! Hey, give control, let go and give him a piece of my mind! He was watching you fight the rogue werewolves’ leader the whole ti, but he didn’t step in to help you! That’s not cool’.
"Not now, Elektra. I am not in the mood". I said to her and continued to walk away, not knowing where I was going, since I had never been in this place before until today.
